FLU 2020

FLU CLINICS

Due to Covid we will not be able to run our flu clinics as we have done in previous years.

We have been and still are working hard in the background to get everything in place as we will need additional time to allow for changes to manage the flow of patients in and out of the surgery to facilitate safe distancing.  We ask at this stage that you do not telephone us, we will contact you.

We anticipate a controlled invitation system to accommodate for the additional complexities including arrival times as to not create too many in the car park and in the building at any one time.

SAVE THE DATES!

All being well our first flu clinic will be held on Saturday 12th September. This clinic will be for those that are ages 65 and over ONLY and have previously received a shielding letter. These are priority bookings;  we will also be booking aged 65 and over to those that have a chronic condition such as, diabetes, COPD, asthma, heart disease/stroke. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.

More dates will be available each Saturday for those with chronic conditions, aged 18+ at risk and those that are 65 and over, and or those that have received a shielding letter. This will take place on Saturday 19th September.

We have also opened appointments for Saturday 26th September and Saturday 3rd October.

You may receive an invitation by text message over the next few days/weeks. Please respond accordingly. If you prefer to book your appointment via telephone please choose Option 6 or you can now book on line.

There will be a one way system in operation. If you feel that you are unable to stand for long periods of time please inform the surgery and we will endeavour to make alternative arrangements. (Please see our guide to attending)

Please note: Patients in the 50-64-year old age group that do not fit the categories above will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
