Nurse Practitioner

What is Triage?

The purpose of ‘triage’ is to ensure that all patients are dealt with fairly by an appropriate member of the clinical team and to ensure that problems are dealt with urgently if necessary.

Every day we run a service for patients who request an urgent same day appointment. When you request such an appointment the receptionist will tell you that you will be placed on the triage list and that the  Nurse Practitioner will call you back to discuss your problems with you.

You will be asked to confirm your name and telephone number. The Nurse will contact you within the hour and we therefore ask that you remain available for this time in order to plan your care.

Nurses in our practice treat patients for a wide range of common conditions. The Nurse Practitoner is qualified to prescribe. She will of course refer/discuss with a doctor if appropriate.
